This long weekend in DC may or may not be crazy. It seems almost everyone in the district has Tuesday off and most lucky people (myself included) also have Monday off. Wahoo for a 4 day weekend. However, with millions expected to descend on our little city it could be a nightmare. Luckily I have some fun things planned, so even if I can’t sleep at night due to shouts of “Obama” etc. I’ll be having a good time!

Friday Evening: Russia house for KAK’s birthday. House infused Vodka’s, Baltica #8 Beer, and hopefully not many tourists, they don’t really know about this spot. I’m not even linking to it! SORRY.

Saturday: Marc gets in. He decided to fly instead of drive, which is a good plan because all bridges out of DC will be closed Tuesday when he leaves. Driving would be a potential nightmare. We are going to brunch at Cafe Milano. I’ve never been but the Z family tells me the pizzas are “dope.” That evening we are going to catch up with a lot of old friends. Location TBD.

Sunday: Sleeping in and then attempting to go to the “We are One” concert at the Lincoln Memorial. It should be cold and absolutely packed, but why not join the fun. You only get Beyonce, Mary J. Blige, U2, Garth Brooks, Sheryl Crow, Renee Fleming, Josh Groban, Herbie Hancock, Heather Headley, John Legend, Jennifer Nettles, John Mellencamp, Usher Raymond IV, Shakira, Bruce Springsteen, James Taylor,, and Stevie Wonder all together at the same time maybe once in a lifetime. Don’t worry you can watch it on HBO at 7pm, HBO will be free to everyone for the performance. They are opening up their signal or something techie like that.

Sunday Evening: Get’s it’s own paragraph because we are going to the opening of a new trashy bar in Adam’s Morgan called the City Tavern and guess who is going to be there – THE CAST OF THE HILLS – omgomgomgomg I don’t even care which cast members are there. The teen in me like abso cannot wait omfg. Then maybe we are going to the Moby Concert at the 9:30 club if we can find tickets.

Monday: Rest and eat Chinese food. Maybe bake cookies.

Tuesday: Attempt to attend the inauguration of our 44th President and also go visit my state senators after the ceremony if it is even possible to get over to the Hill. Little does everyone know almost every Rep and Senator holds lunches after the ceremony and you can pretty much just walk in. At least we did last time, this time it might be really different though.

For now though…
